Veterinary Review & Medical Verification Policy

Veterinary Review & Medical Verification Policy

Last Updated: February 2025

GoldenPawsCare publishes educational content for senior-dog parents. Because many topics involve health, diet, anxiety, mobility, and joint support, we follow a strict medical review process to ensure accuracy, safety, and responsible guidance.

Why Our Medical Review Policy Exists

Senior-dog care falls under Google’s YMYL medical content standards. That means information must be accurate, verifiable, and reviewed by qualified professionals, especially when discussing:

  • Medication, pain relief, and NSAIDs
  • Supplements such as glucosamine, omegas, CBD, probiotics
  • Therapeutic diets and mobility aids
  • Chronic conditions such as arthritis, CCD, and inflammation
  • Veterinary treatment options or risks

How Our Review Process Works

  1. Drafting: Content is researched and written by the GoldenPawsCare editorial team using peer-reviewed sources and veterinary references.
  2. Fact Verification: Medical statements are checked against reputable veterinary sources (AAHA, WSAVA, Merck Vet Manual, university extensions, ACVIM journals).
  3. Veterinary Review: The site’s co-owners is a licensed veterinarian who reviews relevant sections for accuracy, clarity, and real-world safety.
  4. Post-Publication Monitoring: Any major change in veterinary guidance triggers an update or re-review.

What Content Receives Formal Review?

Articles with any of the following are medically reviewed before publishing:

  • Supplement dosage or efficacy claims
  • Arthritis or pain management protocols
  • Anxiety treatments or safety warnings
  • Diet, protein percentages, or nutrient guidelines
  • Veterinary diagnostic language
  • Medication references or drug categories

What Is NOT Considered Veterinary Advice?

All content on GoldenPawsCare is for educational purposes only and should not replace a consultation with your own veterinarian. We do not diagnose, prescribe medication, or provide case-specific treatment guidance.
